Yuven Sundaramoorthy announced Dec. 11 on social media that he will not drive for ABEL Motorsports in the 2025 INDY NXT by Firestone season due to what he called “unforeseen budget challenges.”
Sundaramoorthy, 21, from Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, was preparing to start his second season with ABEL Motorsports in the INDYCAR development series. He finished eighth in the series standings in his first full season in 2024, with a best finish of second in the season finale at Nashville Superspeedway.
University of Wisconsin graduate Sundaramoorthy captioned his social post with, “Tough news, but we are already hard at work to be back for 2026 with ABEL Motorsports in Indy NXT.”
“After much consideration, I want to announce that I won’t be competing with ABEL Motorsports in the INDY NXT by Firestone series in 2025 due to unforeseen budget challenges,” Sundaramoorthy wrote. “While it’s a tough decision, I’m incredibly grateful for the support and opportunities that have come my way. I’d like to express gratitude to the ABEL Motorsports team for their trust and partnership, and to all my supporters for believing in me.
“This isn’t the end – just the beginning of new possibilities. Stay tuned, and I look forward to what’s next.”
Sundaramoorthy produced a pair of top-three finishes, four top fives and eight top 10s in 2024. He was particularly strong on ovals, with finishes of 10th at Iowa Speedway, third at World Wide Technology Raceway, seventh at Milwaukee Mile and second at Nashville Superspeedway.
Myles Rowe already was named as one of ABEL’s drivers for 2025. The team is expected to add another driver to its lineup soon.
