Salvador de Alba Jr. is staying in the Andretti Global family for the 2025 INDY NXT by Firestone season, moving from Andretti Cape NXT to Andretti Global, team officials announced Oct. 10.
Mexican driver de Alba received the promotion after a strong rookie season with Andretti Cape NXT. He finished fifth in the series standings with five top-five finishes in 14 starts. Those results included his first career podium finishes, third place on the ovals at Iowa and Milwaukee.
Qualifying performance also improved for de Alba through the year. He qualified ninth twice and a season-best sixth twice in his final four starts of the year.
De Alba came to INDY NXT in 2024 after two seasons in the Indy Pro 2000 championship, in which he finished third in 2023. He also is a champion of the NASCAR PEAK Mexico Series and the SuperCopa Mexico series.
The 2025 INDY NXT by Firestone season starts Sunday, March 2 on the streets of St. Petersburg, Florida.
