WEST ALLIS, Wis. – Periodically in the Grand Prix of Milwaukee, Felix Serralles reminded himself not to press on the 1.015-mile oval.

In only his second Indy Lights Presented by Cooper Tires race on an oval – the second in his career – Serralles kept his calm while chasing down race leader RC Enerson on Laps 53-88, and didn’t make a mistake after grabbing the point with a pass at the start-finish line on Lap 89 of 100.

 “I had a good car, the team did a fantastic job and I just drove the hell out of it,” said Serralles, who is the fifth different winner representing five teams through 11 races this season.

“Everyone is really excited to get our first win. I’m excited just to win a race this year, and to be an oval race is unheard of for me.”

Serralles, who turned 23 on June 24, qualified sixth in the No. 4 Belardi Auto Racing entry.

RC Enerson, who started second in the No. 7 Schmidt Peterson Motorsports with Curb-Agajanian car, overtook pole sitter Spencer Pigot early on and engaged in a close battle with Serralles. He finished 5.5661 seconds back.

Juan Piedrahita finished third – his third consecutive podium at Milwaukee in the Mazda Road to Indy ladder system – for Belardi Auto Racing. Team owner Brian Belardi is a Wisconsin native.

Jack Harvey finished fourth in the No. 42 Schmidt Peterson Motorsports with Curb-Agajanian car. With Pigot fading to seventh because of a gearbox issue after the lone caution of the race and Ed Jones placing eighth, Harvey extended his championship lead to 16 points over Pigot.
