Jack William Miller and his family-owned team, Miller Vinatieri Motorsports, have joined forces with ABEL Motorsports to contest the 2025 INDY NXT by Firestone championship, team officials announced Feb. 4.
Miller, from Indianapolis, will continue to drive his familiar No. 40 Patterson Dental car throughout the 14-round schedule in his second season in the INDYCAR development series. He scored two top-10 finishes as a rookie in 2024 for the single-car Miller Vinatieri team, co-owned by his father, Indianapolis 500 veteran Jack Miller, and Super Bowl-winning kicker Adam Vinatieri.
“I’m pumped to be joining ABEL Motorsports with Miller Vinatieri Motorsports for the 2025 INDY NXT by Firestone season,” Miller said. “This opportunity wouldn’t be possible without everyone at Patterson Dental and HomeLink. Their partnership and belief in me as a driver really means the world to me.”
Miller, 21, will team with ABEL drivers Callum Hedge, Jordan Missig and Myles Rowe this season.
“Coming up through the ranks I haven’t really had a teammate,” Miller said. “It’s mainly been me, which can be awesome but does have its challenges. This year having Myles, Callum, Jordan and the entire ABEL Motorsports group around me, and additional data points to look at, will be huge.
“This team has proven it has what it takes to win at this level, so to be a part of the team and have this opportunity in front of me is really something special.”
ABEL Motorsports won three races last season, all by driver Jacob Abel, who has graduated this season to the NTT INDYCAR SERIES with Dale Coyne Racing. The team has grown from a single-car outfit in its first season in 2022 to four cars for the 2025 season.
“All of us at ABEL Motorsports are thrilled to welcome Jack William Miller and Miller Vinatieri Motorsports to the ABEL family,” team owner Bill Abel said. “I think this partnership will be a great thing for both sides.
“We always pay pretty close attention to the drivers and teams we are competing against, so we’ve known Jack William Miller and Jack Miller for quite a while now, and to have the opportunity to do something together is just awesome.”
The 2025 INDY NXT by Firestone season starts Sunday, March 2 with the Grand Prix of St. Petersburg on the streets of St. Petersburg, Florida (10 a.m., FS1, INDYCAR Radio Network).
