Bryce Aron is switching to HMD Motorsports for his second INDY NXT by Firestone season in 2025, team officials confirmed Oct. 14.
Aron, from Winnetka, Illinois, will drive the No. 39 Jaguar Land Rover Chesterfield entry in the INDYCAR development series.
“I’m extremely excited to be joining HMD Motorsports for the 2025 INDY NXT season,” Aron said. “The goal is nothing short of winning the championship, and I believe together with HMD, this is possible. I’m looking forward to getting started with the team at IMS later this week.”
Aron, 21, will test with the rest of the INDY NXT by Firestone field at the annual Chris Griffis Memorial Test on Friday, Oct. 18 on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course.
In his rookie INDY NXT by Firestone season, Aron showed his potential by claiming two podium results with Andretti Global, with third-place finishes at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca and Portland International Raceway. He added a fourth-place finish at the Milwaukee Mile oval. He finished ninth in the final season standings.
“Bryce steadily improved throughout the 2024 season, and we are very confident in his ability to be at the pointy end of the field week in and week out,” HMD Team President Mike Maurini said. “Experience is key in the INDY NXT program, and Bryce is entering his sophomore season with experience at every venue that we will compete at in the 2025 season.”
Before joining the INDYCAR development ladder, Aron spent four years racing in Europe, where he claimed multiple race wins and podiums across championships, including in GB3 with Hitech and EuroFormula Open with Motopark.
Aron marks HMD Motorsports’ fourth confirmed driver for the 2025 season. He will join Caio Collet, Josh Pierson and Tommy Smith on the grid. HMD plans to name more drivers to its lineup during the offseason.
