NTT INDYCAR SERIES rookie Louis Foster was named as the recipient of the Graham Hill Trophy from the British Racing Drivers Club (BRDC) on Thursday, Jan. 30 in London.
The BRDC presents the award, named in honor of 1966 Indianapolis 500 winner and two-time Formula One World Champion Graham Hill, annually to the British driver “with the most meritorious performance in single-seater racing.” This covers all global open-wheel series, including Formula One, Formula E, Formula 2, the NTT INDYCAR SERIES, INDY NXT by Firestone and more.
Foster, from Odiham, England, won the INDY NXT by Firestone championship in 2024 for Andretti Global with a dominant performance. He won eight of the 14 races and clinched the title with a race to spare. Foster earned promotion to a full-time seat in the NTT INDYCAR SERIES this season with Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing.
“It means a lot that I can get the support back home and that the people back home are watching what I’m doing and the effort I’ve been putting in over the last few years here in the States,” Foster said. “It’s really nice to be recognized by the club, which has deep roots in British motorsport for nearly over a century now. Super happy and big thank you to the BRDC.”
Foster will make his NTT INDYCAR SERIES debut Sunday, March 2 at the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg presented by RP Funding (noon ET, FOX, INDYCAR Radio Network).
